The Perfect Complement
Genesis 2:18
The Lord God said "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." It is a total gift from God that He created the two sexes. That he choose to show His nature through two unique genders, male and female. In so many ways the beauty of women shines in the their wonderful natural expression of God through their feminine qualities. These nurturing qualities show a side of God that screams of God’s wholeness and the fullness of life that God intends to lavish on us.
The Road Less Traveled
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. There is a road less traveled. It may not seem the fastest or easiest path. But this path is the one that leads to the life you were created for. I am trekking on that road. It is hard at times, and I stumble often, but there is one who walks by my side, faithfully leading the way and sharing the journey.
Channel Surfing through Life
Ecclesiastes 2:1-11
So often we rapidly move through life from one thing to the next trying to find satisfaction from the things of this world. Sometimes we may find something that fulfills for a moment, but soon we will have to continue our search, it never lasts, it never fulfills. God’s Word has made it clear that the more we seek after pleasures the more illusive they become. Instead we need to seek Him and He will fill us with what our heart truly desires (Psalms 37:4).
Faith like a Child
Mark 10:15
Young children must learn to trust their parents. They need to trust that their parents will provide for their physical needs: food, clothing, shelter (Matthew 6:25-34). They need to trust that they will be safe (Psalm 23:4). They need to know they are secure in their parents love (Jeremiah 31:3). Our Father gives us His mighty hand and leads us through the storm and the calm and beyond.
Spirit v. Law
Galatians 5:16-26
Much of Paul's writings are devoted to communicating the difference between the Spirit and the Law. The Law was designed as a tutor, a way for us to understand God's standard and His Holiness. The law shows us how we fall short of His perfection; with all our strength we still fall short. But His Spirit not only changes our heart, but it gives us the strength we need to live a life pleasing to God. This is why the man lead by the Spirit is not under the law.
Levitical Code
Leviticus 1-7
The Book of Leviticus is filled with amazing truths about the Spirit of Worship that our God desires. But often it can be hard to understand the sacrificial procedures that outline the requirements of the one true God. Being the nerd that I am I found that a programming language was the best way to outline the procedures in a way that I could best wrap my mind around. This is just Pseudo code; I wouldn't try to compile it.
